Master Dog Training was founded in 2011 and has since earned the respect of countless dog trainers, veterinarians, groomers, doggie day cars, dog, animal rescue groups and personal dog owners in the San Gabriel Valley. Providing obedience training, potty training and service dog training. Also help with problems such as barking, chewing, jumping, digging, mouthing, nipping, biting, pulling on leash and following commands.

Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis
Mr. Carmona has a Master's Degree in Psychology Specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis, and is a double certified dog trainer. While in graduate school, Mr. Carmona worked as a certified Senior Pet Training Instructor at Petsmart, an accredited Dog Trainer at Petco, a Dog Trainer and Behavior Specialist at Heavenly Pet Resort, Dog Training Instructor at K9-Loft, and private dog trainer contracting for many veterinarians, groomers, and boarding facilities across San Gabriel Valley of Southern California.
As part of Mr. Carmona's graduate program at CSULA, he conducted behavior modification services to the human population. During this time, Mr. Carmona realized that many of the behavior-change techniques used by behavior analysts were universally applicable across species, as were the scientific principles on which those techniques were based. Mr. Carmona felt that these well-validated practices used to help humans exhibiting behavior problems offered a rich and robust set of procedures and solutions for dogs with behavior problems.
Learning that behavior analysis provided a humane ethic from which to understand, predict and change dog behavior, Mr. Carmona decided to devote his part of his life to helping canine owners with behavioral problems and founded Master Dog Training. Mr. Carmona believes in teaching dog owners about their dog's natural drives and how to work with them opposed to working against them for a harmonious relationship.
Michael's philosophy is to use mainly positive reinforcement procedures for learning and to use corrections only if necessary. You don't have to break a dog's spirit in the training process. Every dog is different and will respond differently to different procedures. If you’re anything like Mike, you have an incredible connection with your dogs. When they need training, you want to make sure they’re with someone who will understand them. That’s why Michael works with your dog's natural drives and instincts, not against them.

While in graduate school, Mr. Carmona worked as an Accredited Pet Training Instructor at Petsmart for over 5 years as the Senior Dog Trainer.
At Petsmart they used only positive reinforcement aka reward training. However now out of the corporation, we can use of all the other procedures available that behavior science has to offer! We will apply the science of operant conditioning. The dog learns that his/her behavior has a consequence.
Certified Dog Training Instructor from Petco
While Mr. Carmona was working as a behavior analyst for humans and as a dog trainer, he was asked to help Petco with their dog training classes where he worked for over 2 years.
At Petco, they use only positive reinforcement based training too aka reward training. However outside of their store, we can use of all the other procedures available that the science of operant conditioning has to offer.
AKC CGC EVALUATOR
Mr. Carmona is a Certified Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and can administer the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test for your dog. This is useful for homeowner's insurance for bully breeds or guarding breeds, and may give dog privilaged stays at some hotels without an extra pet fee!
